Finally

It's finally my turn :). I'm 37 and I've always wanted to have a baby but I never thought I'd ever get the chance. I didn't come out till I was 30, mostly because I was struggling with the fact that I thought that being gay would mean I'd have to give up on the dream of ever becoming a mum. I don't know why I thought that, but I did. I also thought that I'd never find anyone I loved enough to have kids with. I honestly thought I'd have to go it alone. But then I met Scout :)) She was a single mum with two little girls from a previous relationship. I looked at her profile so many times but always moved on because she had kids. It's not that I had a problem with kids as such but I just always thought I was looking for someone I could have kids with. Not someone who already had them. I figured that being with someone who was already a mother would mean I couldn't have that role, and more than likely she wouldn't be up for having any more. How wrong was I?! After looking at her profile more times than I can remember, I decided to message her simply thinking she might make a good friend. She turned out to be all that and a whole more! If I had written a list of all the things I was looking for in the perfect partner - I never would have been able to come up with anything as perfect as Scout is for me :) We've been a family now for over two years, comprising of two mums, two girls, a cat, dog, and a menagerie of other animals. And now we're ready to add to that menagerie! I have really enjoyed reading the blogs of so many other lesbians out there tcc but I'm yet to find any Aussie one's so I thought perhaps we should start one of our own :)
